about

'Wild Mountain Thyme'

The song may have started life as a traditional Scottish song 'The Braes (Hills) O' Bowhether', then became 'The Braes Of Balquhither' by Scottish poet Robert Tannahill around 1800, and finally was adapted and recorded by Francis McPeake as 'Wild Mountain Thyme' in 1957.
